There is something for everyone to enjoy: dark poems, love poems, nature poems, funny poems, poems about death and grief, poems about abuse and heartache, children's poems, and experimental poems.

Thursday

by Dawn Pisturino

A strange and beautiful day!
The sun breaking through morning clouds,
Rosy and lazy,
Parting slowly to make way
For their golden-haired brother.
I feel you with me.
One soul, indivisible, and I know
You will never be happy without me,
And I will never be happy without you.
I feel you with me,
And my heart shines as brightly as the sun,
Breaking through the clouds of my misery.
I feel you with me,
And I am blessed and whole again,
A woman without regret,
A woman without shame.
I feel you with me,
And I know that no matter what happens,
We will never be separated again.

Haiku for the New Year

Haiku for the New Year

by Dawn Pisturino

New Year's

New Year's scurries in
On tiny feet, quiet as
A mouse at midnight.

Mercury

Good luck came swiftly
On Mercury's flying boots,
A Roman windfall.

January First

January first
Brings new hope, new love, new faith
In a failing world.

Gifts

Gifts of gentle words
Calm the raging sea inside
Your turbulent heart.

God

God is larger than
The universe, standing watch
Over all of us.
